Global Microfinance Case Competition 2020
The Global Microfinance Case Competition is an annual business case study competition organized and hosted by the University of Melbourne, Australia. It assesses the participants' analytical skills by evaluating their innovative solutions to pressing issues faced by microfinance institutions around the world.
The multidimensional nature of this year’s competition challenged participants to consider the real-world implications of their recommendations and resultant effects on the microfinance industry of the Philippines amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
The four-member team from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, comprising Aryan Bharadwaj, Ishaan Jain, Rishabh Bansal and Vedansh Chopra, had qualified for the Global Heats (International Top 12). The competition witnessed participation from renowned universities around the globe like Nanyang Technological University, Brown University, University of Southern California, The Australian National University, UNSW and many more. Team SSCBS was the only team to qualify from India for the Global Heats of this competition.
Dr. Poonam Verma, Mr. Neeraj Sehrawat and Mr. Amit Kumar continuously supported the team in the competition as faculty advisors.
